ALL ABOUT SHORTS

As the dry season creeps in and the temperature rises we will have no option but to put on our shorts to feel more comfortable.
While at it, It is important to have the following at the back of our mind:

1.Shorts are better worn for casual/informal events .It is totally wrong to show up in the office on a Monday morning wearing shorts(who does that?)except you are ''your boss''

2.It is safer to have the length of your short at the  knee except you have very athletic thighs and your goal is to show them off but if you don't? You know what's to do.

3.Bear in mind that they are several types of shorts and they are styled differently. The dressy shorts can be worn with all types of dress shirts ,they have a more tailored outlook and they can be worn to formal  dress code zone that is  a little relaxed.
There is also the casual short which is totally and exclusively casual as the name suggests, and then there is the swim short type this is just for the beach they are usually colourful ,floral and animated, they should be worn to the beach with a pair of flip flops because it's the beach.

In my final words .

Whatever type of shorts you have chosen to wear  should be right for the occasion, place and time. Shorts are totally relaxing and I enjoy  wearing shorts. The comfort it gives you is everything especially  if you like fitted  trousers.  Will do a casual outfit with shorts soon on the blog.
The most interesting part is that you can turn an old trouser into a great pair of shorts. A DIY fashion you want to try.
As shorts gain more room in our closet lets be sure to play them the right way and explore.
Thanks for reading, see you in the next post.

Trend Alert!!! Belted jackets.

I first saw this outfit recently on Denola Grey of denolagrey.com on a  TV show EL Now . The first ten seconds of  seeing this on him I couldn't decide  if  I liked it or not. Thought it to be an experiment and maybe the belted jacket session will end with him on that show.  Fast forward to several weeks later during the Heineken Lagos Fashion and Design Week I spot more guys rocking the  belted jacket.

Well it's not a new creative idea but it's one I am critical of. Though it looked good on Denola Grey during the GTB Fashion Weekend, I personally think its meaningless for a  man to put  a belt on his jacket/blazer  ''on his waist''. For a woman, it accentuates her cures but to a man it's just there.

Most awfully it  will looks like a military officer  getting ready to jump off a plane in  a parachute to help end  the war in Syria. That's if styled wrongly.

I do agree that the men's fashion scene in Nigeria is evolving and the belted jacket might just be part of the evolution. But, I  wouldn't be incorporating this trend at least not now maybe when I get to Denola's level of ''fashionability.''

The Crisp White Shirt

An essential style staple for every man is a set of crisp white shirts.  A crisp white shirt serves as a neutral base in matching colours and patterns as it can be worn with any colour of suit, trouser etc.
With a few set of a white shirts you can build up several classic and powerful looks to attend to your  fashion needs. So, while picking out a new pair attention should be paid to the quality of the material, the fit of the shirt because you will definitely look good in anything that is in the size right for you.

Tom Ford also classifies the white shirt as a  most have for  all men.

The white shirt can be worn as a casual or formal outfit. A classic casual look is pairing the white shirt with a pair of blue jean trousers - you can never go wrong in this. An all time classic formal look is a pair of black suit with black tie, topped with  the white shirt.

A  white shirt  sets a blank canvass for your colourful ties.

Its sets tone for other colours of shoes apart from black and brown.
